We loved everything! I'm giving this hotel top marks even though the mattress wasn't comfortable because as busy as it was, (sold out), the staff made it so easy and seamless. As for the uncomfortable mattress, I know how much it costs for a room in Vancouver so The YMCA Hotel was what we could afford. It was so much better than we expected! All we were lacking was a freezer to put our cooler ice packs in, but the community kitchens on each floor were AMAZING! They even had ovens! Just no freezers there or in the rooms for guests. There were bar fridges in the rooms (not the community kitchens) as well as private sinks. The shared shower and toilet were secured by pushing a button to lock the door of the one neighboring suite that we shared with. And if it was occupied, there was a toilet and shower in the hall close to each room so it wasn't an issue at all! There is an ice bucket in the room, and ice machine in lobby. There are vending machines that actually had some healthy snacks! There is complimentary coffee with real cream or milk, and water is also available, in the lobby in the moning

I don’t remember a free breakfast, but the staff was terrific. I thought our taxi had gone off with our CPAP & BIPAP machines, and so they let me look at their video footage to see which company had dropped us off and then, after we were already on our cruise ship and weren’t allowed off, they went to our room, retrieved my insulin from the fridge and called or coordinated with a taxi to pick it up and bring it to the embarkation site! I couldn’t have asked for anything more! Please communicate our gratitude. And it turns out we had left our sleep apnea devices in baggage claim where we were able to retrieve them after our cruise.

The YWCA Hotel is a great place for independent travellers who don't need a lot of pampering. Its location is close to public transit, restaurants, attractions and shopping. The rooms are extremely clean and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. We slept very well here in this quiet room. Coffee and ice water were available in the lobby. China dishes and utensils were available to borrow for the duration of your stay. We appreciated the transit directions given in the Guest Services binder.

The hotel was really nice. We didn’t realise when booking that some rooms have a shared bathroom with other people in the hotel so we asked for a bigger room. The staff were quite confused with what we wanted in the end but they managed to get another room for us with no problem. Would really recommend this hotel for tourists as it’s right in the centre of Vancouver and it’s easy to walk to a lot of places.

I loved the location of my room facing the stadium and a portion of downtown. My room also had a private bathroom. The property was clean and maintained. The staff was very helpful and I like that I could have stored my luggage before and after check in. There was a patio lounge area on one of the floors so that was great to go and relax. There was a kitchen and kitchenette to prepare food.
